Shouldn’t they hate pork just as much as gay people?

Christians claim that Leviticus doesn’t apply to them because of the death/sacrifice of Christ. Absolved sins and whatnot. Well, at least the Christians I’ve spoken to. They all have different takes. ._.
See, here’s what I want to get to the bottom of, oft times when I bring this up, I will be told the same thing, that Leviticus no longer applies, so, if Leviticus no longer applies, why do they use it as an excuse to hate gay people?
I mean, the same part of the bible that condemns homosexuality condemns eating pork - I never get a straight answer on this.
Every single time, I get “Leviticus doesn’t apply anymore” I never get the reasoning as to why if it doesn’t apply, it’s still being used an an excuse against homosexuality.
I mean, sure, I know the actual reason, I’m just real curious as to what the excuse is.
