John Boehner says we should focus on jobs, not Mitt’s video (forgets Republicans just killed jobs for Vets)
After a video was leaked displaying Republican Presidential nominee Mitt Romney’s disregard for 47% of Americans, the GOP has been in panic-mode and that includes House Speaker John Boehner, who tried to assert that focus should be on jobs, and not on the message in Mitt’s videos. So, to acquiesce, we’ll focus on jobs.
Boehner’s quote (which he may regret):
“This election is about jobs, we’ve said it for 20 months and it hasn’t changed,” the nation’s top elected Republican said about the surreptitiously-recorded comments made by Romney at a closed-door fundraiser in May.
You’re going to have both campaigns on both sides say things that get off the message. The message is let’s stay focused on jobs because that’s what the American people want us to stay focused on.”
Our dysfunctional Congress, packed full of nitwit partisans, have decided that obstructing President Obama is more important than the economy and job creation.
As reported here, “To deem this group as a ‘do-nothing Congress’ is being generous. Congress has done much in the form of obstruction. On day one of controlling the House, John Boehner pledged that jobs would be “priority one.”
“Helping Americans get back to work is our number one priority, and we’re going to do everything we can to help create jobs and to boost our economy.”
The Senate is no better.
PoliticusUSA documented the names of Republican Senators that blocked jobs for Veterans on Thursday.
Of course Boehner doesn’t like people talking about Mitt’s video, because the video exposes EXACTLY what the GOP is about and has been about for decades.
He’s pulling the good ‘ol, “BUT X IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN Y!!! WHY IS EVERYONE TALKING ABOUT Y????”
I’ll tell you why, because this shit is important, we have a man running for president who basically looks down his nose at nearly half of Americans like an over-privileged dick.
And if this election was about jobs, then WHY THE FUCK did senate republicans just block a jobs bill for American veterans that was ALREADY FUCKING PAID FOR???
