Can Romney outlaw abortion and birth control?!
Myth: Romney cannot outlaw abortion and birth control. He can be against them, but he cannot outlaw them. Why? Because thats for the courts/states to decide.
Fact: The president is in charge of picking the lifetime appointees to the Supreme Court of the United States of America. In the next 4 to 8 years, there are likely to be as many as three vacancies on this the highest court in the land, the only legal body with the power to alter the current finding of constitutional law that keeps abortion technically legal.
So, yes, the next president of the United States actually is going to have the power to control the future of reproductive and hormonal health care choices in this country for basically the lifetime of every human being of voting age in this country today, albeit indirectly.
THIS is why it’s important to vote this year. It’s about more than Obama vs. Romney. This election will shape the politics of our country for decades because of the Supreme Court members who will be replaced in the next four years.
