I think it came down to 500 something votes Between Bush and Gore in Florida, in the grand scheme of things, that is an incredibly small amount of people.
While I don’t like the electoral scheme of “winner take all” for the states that the electoral college uses in most states, the election in 2000 showed that a few votes can very well matter.
