One of the more pretentious political self-descriptions is ‘libertarian.’ People think it puts them above the fray. It sounds fashionable, and to the uninitiated, faintly dangerous. Actually, it’s just one more bullshit political philosophy.

“God bless America!” Once again, respectfully, I say to myself: “What the fuck does that mean?” God bless America? Is that a request? Is that a demand? Is that a suggestion? Listen! There are 200 countries in the world now! Do these people honestly think that God is sitting around picking out his favorites? Why would he do that? Why would God have a favorite country? And why would it be America out of all the countries? And America is not alone with this sort of delusions. Military cemeteries around the world are packed with brainwashed dead soldiers who were convinced God was on their side. America prays for God to destroy our enemies. Our enemies pray for God to destroy us. Somebody’s gonna be disappointed! Somebody’s wasting their fucking time! Could it be… everyone?

George Carlin’s Greatest Moment
I know what we need - we need an intellectual revolution and morally convince these guys that what they’re doing is wrong!

If more people thought for their self instead of buying into ideological bullshit, this would be a very different country right now…

I’ve begun worshiping the Sun for a number of reasons. First of all, unlike some other gods I could mention, I can see the Sun. It’s there for me every day. And the things it brings me are quite apparent all the time: heat, light, food, a lovely day. There’s no mystery, no one asks for money, I don’t have to dress up, and there’s no boring pageantry. And interestingly enough, I have found that the prayers I offer to the sun and the prayers I formerly offered to God are all answered at about the same 50-percent rate.

…someone else who is no longer among us who I would LOVE to meet. I wish more people would wake the fuck up and realize just how fucked up things have gotten.
I wonder what Carlin would think now…
