If true, I wonder if all of those politicians who led the Chick-fil-love-in this summer will now ask for refunds.
I wonder what all the bigots who participated in “Chick-fil-A appreciation day” feel now.

and by “under assault” they mean, “People are getting sick of bigotry and speaking out about it.”
Like seriously, these fuckers try to be exclusionary, bigoted assholes and then nail themselves up on a cross when someone calls them out on it.

For the third day in a row the local news channel posted a story on Facebook about Chick-fil-a and for the third day in a row the homophobes come out in droves to comment on it. It is beyond frustrating to read the comments.

This man is not a hero.
Let’s not forget that they do discriminate as well: The media keep saying Chick-fil-A has never discriminated, but the truth is that Chick-fil-A has been sued over a dozen times for employment discrimination. That’s what a leading business publication, Forbes, stated in 2007, when they also called Chick-fil-A a “cult” and reported that Chick-fil-A’s founder and CEO Truett Cathy said he wanted to hire married people because they are more industrious and productive. Truett Cathy has also said he would probably fire someone who “has been sinful or done something harmful to their family members.”
That is number 4 in this article: Chick-fil-A: 5 Reasons It Isn’t What You Think
Reblogging for the additional commentary by hatefulatheist.
For the record, Chick-Fil-A was the only fast food place in my hometown that would hire out LGBT people.
I keep seeing this reblogged without this additional commentary:
Several Chick-fil-A stores are franchises and the owners of those franchises may not hold the same views as the CEO, for example, one store in New Hampshire (the only one in New Hampshire) broke with the CEO’s and sponsors LGBT pride.
Though, that still doesn’t absolve the company’s founder of his support for what’s listed in the image above, it is something important to keep in mind.

Chick-fil-A’s anti-gay marriage stance has gotten some high-profile support by way of Mike Huckabee, Rick Santorum, Sarah Palin and other conservative lawmakers. But among their longtime customers, it’s a much different story.
Polling organization YouGov found that the Atlanta-based chain’s brand approval ratings have plummeted in the wake of Chick-fil-A President Dan Cathy’s controversial remarks earlier this month. YouGov also reports that the company’s overall consumer brand health among fast food eaters has dropped to its lowest levels since mid-August 2010 in the wake of the media firestorm.
Just before Cathy’s interview was published, Chick-fil-A’s Index score was 65, well above the Top National Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) Sector average score of 46. Just four days later, however, Chick-fil-A’s score had fallen to 47, while last week, the chain had a score of 39, compared to the Top National QSR Sector average score of 43.
And evangelicals will cry that the public outrage is some kind of free speech issue.
Fox Nation’s “Pic of the Day” highlights Fox contributor Sarah Palin proudly supporting Chick-Fil-A’s anti-gay views.
Do Palin and Fox think they know “better than you as to what constitutes a marriage?”
Following The Jim Henson Company’s announcement, that all proceeds from a recent parternship with Chick-Fil-A would be donated to GLAAD, the fast food chain has decided to voluntarily recall and discontinue the Henson-designed toys currently included in kids’ meals. Here’s a look at the sign reportedly popping up in Chick-Fil-A locations around the country. source
What a bunch of fucking liars.
Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-VT) on Wednesday warned that the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act could die in the U.S. House of Representatives.
The VAWA, originally passed in 1994 and reauthorized twice since, provides funding to local communities to improve their response to domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault and stalking. The federal grants from the law support police training, victim services, transitional housing, and legal assistance.
“Time is running out,” Leahy said on the Senate floor. “There are only a few weeks left in this legislative session before election year politics takes over and Congress comes to a standstill. There are critical improvements in the Leahy-Crapo Reauthorization Bill that will not take effect unless Congress acts.”
The Senate approved the Violence Against Women Act by a 68-31 vote in April, with 15 Republicans voting yes. But the Republican-led House has refused to take action on the Senate bill. Instead, House Republicans passed their own version of the bill which omits provisions related to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered, immigrant and Native women and men.
A Washington, D.C. judge has ordered an anti-LGBT preacher to pay MSNBC host Rachel Maddow’s attorney’s fees after he filed a $50 million lawsuit for allegedly defaming him.
Over the weekend, the blog Bradlee Dean Info first reported that Dean and his You Can Run International ministry had 30 days to pay $24,625.23.
Dean had sued Maddow last year after she aired a segment from his radio show where he said that Muslims were “more moral than even the American Christians” because they were “calling for the execution for homosexuals.”
The radio host claimed that Maddow’s report was an attempt to undermine the presidential ambition’s of his personal friend, Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN).
Dean lawyer is Larry Klayman told CBS radiothat the anti-LGBT’s preacher’s life was in danger because of the MSNBC report.
“His life has been threatened,” Klayman said. “His family has been threatened. And this is outrageous. Rachel Maddow’s career is over.”
Lawyers for Maddow, NBC and MSNBC filed a motion in in D.C. Superior Court to have the lawsuit dismissed on the grounds that it was being used to stifle free speech. The District of Columbia passed legislation in 2010 to curb the use of strategic lawsuits against public participation (SLAPP) that are designed to intimidate or silence critics.

Chuck Norris recently wrote an article for ammoland.com and he says he supports the Boy Scouts of America’s ban on gays and condemns Obama for pushing a pro-gay BSA. He also says that Obama is in cahoots with the BSA Nation board member James Turley who plans to overturn the ban on gays in the BSA. After reading these two articles I found out the the BSA also bans people who don’t have any religious affiliation. Seriously, BSA? Aren’t boy scouts supposed to make kids into well rounded people? This is deplorable.

With Apple, Microsoft, Facebook, and Google, and many other tech companies all supporting gay rights, I call for all those supporting the Godly war against the gay agenda to boycott computers and the Internet. Alan Turing, one of the main pioneers of computers, was gay himself! This is about more than a silly cookie. Support God and the sanctity of marriage! Boycott the Internet NOW!

Sen. Rob Portman (R-OH), best known as the “boring” choice atop Mitt Romney’s vice presidential list, told ThinkProgress today that he doesn’t believe it should be illegal to fire someone for being gay because doing so would make businesses less “comfortable.”
In an interview at the Faith & Freedom Conference, Portman explained why he opposes the Employee Non-Discrimination Act, which would ban firing someone because of his or her sexual orientation or gender identity. “What I’m concerned about in Paycheck Fairness and other legislation like that is the fact that it will spawn a lot of litigation the way the legislation is written,” the Ohio Senator said. He worried that the legislation “would make it more difficult for employers to feel comfortable.”
