Irony or hypocrisy?
Because, nothing says “protecting the sanctity of marriage” like making what is supposed to be a lifelong commitment to someone that you have no interest in so that you seem more “socially acceptable”.
Michelle Bachmann, on Obamacare
This is just stupid. Obama’s health care plan gives one more choice to everybody already covered and gives one affordable choice to those without insurance. It’s that simple, or at least it would be if the Republicans hadn’t mindlessly batted the legislation to death to make it acceptable. Also, since when does Michelle Bachmann care about choice?
P.S. This quote is real, unlike that one a few days ago, which was satire.
SO NOW SHE CARES ABOUT “CHOICE.”
With Tim Pawlenty out of the presidential race, it is now fairly clear that the GOP candidate will either be Mitt Romney or someone who makes George W. Bush look like Tom Paine. Of the three most plausible candidates for the Republican nomination, two are deeply associated with a theocratic strain of Christian fundamentalism known as Dominionism. If you want to understand Michele Bachmann and Rick Perry, understanding Dominionism isn’t optional.
Any more the GOP seems more like a religious movement than a political party…
