The one thing I hate
about Tumblr is how people forget that there are people behind these blogs that feel and experience things. Tumblr has a tendency to create a circle jerk of dehumanization. I’m guilty in participating in that paradigm, and you probably are too to some extent.

President Obama’s approval rating declined in 47 states last year, dropping the most (9.8%) in his home state of Hawaii. Only in 10 states, and the District of Columbia, do 50% or more approve of the job he’s doing. Do you?
It’s funny that the Rupert Murdoch-owned The Daily claims its data comes from a “just-released Gallup report,” but doesn’t link to that report. Also funny is that the story tries to depict Hawaii (Obama’s home state) as intensely disliking him.
You see, I havea link to a recent Gallup report and it says, “[A]ccording to aggregated data from 2011… [Obama’s] greatest support came from District of Columbia, Maryland, and Hawaii residents.” (Emphasis added.)
This is a reminder that The Daily is nothing more than an Obama smearing right-wing rag. — Ryking

The fact that science changes according to new evidence and doesn’t build certainties with no evidence is not a sign of weakness, but a willingness to look at the facts and be open-minded. The fact that religious faith stays the same in the face of contradictory evidence and builds certainties from nothing is not a sign of strength, but the willingness to ignore facts and wallow in ignorance.
