A longtime anti-gay activist, California Prop 8 donor, and elementary school teacher was taken into custody on August 17th after admitting inappropriate contact with young boys.Caleb Douglas Hesse, a teacher for the Morongo Unified School District since 1987 (most recently, he was teaching first grade at Friendly Hills Elementary School in Joshua Tree) and a longtime youth volunteer with the virulently homophobic Evangelical Free Church of Yucca Valley, has confessed to sexually abusing “numerous underage boys,” with authorities believe the crimes occurred between the early 1980’s and as recently as a week ago.”
A study released by the National Hispanic Media Coalition (NHMC) and UCLA Chicano Studies Research Center (CSRC) found that the hosts and guests on prominent conservative talk radio shows contribute to “hate speech” against ethnic, racial, religious groups and the LGBT community on social media networks.
The study, entitled “Social Networks for Hate Speech,” analyzed the role that five prominent conservative talk radio shows play in spreading hate speech on social websites. It examined the guests, topics and content on The Rush Limbaugh Show, The Sean Hannity Show, The Glenn Beck Program, The Savage Nation, and The John and Ken Show. The study found this social network is dominated by media personalities, Republican political figures and/or Tea Party activists, while routinely ignoring alternative points of view from issue-driven organizations. Other key components of this network include Premiere Radio Networks, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Clear Channel Communications that nationally syndicates three of the five shows examined, and Fox News, whose media personalities appear most frequently on the shows.
The study completed over the last 18 months also determined that:

North Carolina Pastor calls for concentration camps for gays and execution by starvation
Virginia delegate Robert Marshall, who led the effort to block an openly gay man from becoming a district judge, argued Thursday that a gay person on the bench could show bias when ruling in a case involving gay and straight person who got into a fight and he added that “sodomy is not a civil right.”
“You could preside as a district judge for a marriage of two guys if he wanted to, in violation of the law,” Marshall said on CNN’s “Starting Point.” “Moreover, if you have a bar room fight between a homosexual and heterosexual, I’m concerned about possible bias.”
The Virginia General Assembly voted against gay prosecutor Tracy Thorne-Begland’s bid to be a district court judge in Richmond early Tuesday.
Earlier this week, Marshall, a Republican who is running for Senate, had threatened to offer an amendment to try to block Thorne-Begland’s nomination if the state General Assembly didn’t vote to reject him, calling the prosecutor an “aggressive activist for the pro-homosexual agenda.”
Mr Marshall must not be familiar with Lawrence v. Texas.
LGBT rights group the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) evacuated its offices in Washington, D.C., Tuesday afternoon after the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) received an unspecified bomb threat against a “national gay rights organization,” according to reporting from Metro Weekly. Other LGBT rights organizations, including nearby National Gay and Lesbian Task Force and the National Center for Transgender Equality, evacuated their offices as well.
“Earlier this am our LAPD 911 dispatch got call from a caller who says he was going to blow up LGBT bldg in DC. They got call about 8am PST. We imediately got in contact with MPD to advise of the threat. We also started an investigation into the threat. It looks like the call came from local (LA) pay phone. As of 1230 PDT no additional evidence was found to validate the threat. The investigation is ongoing,” LAPD said in a statement to WTOP 103.5 FM.
HRC President Joe Solmonese told Metro Weekly that this was the second time its headquarters in downtown Washington has received a bomb threat since he became president in 2005.
The threat comes less than a week after President Barack Obama and several other high-level Democratic officials have publicly endorsed same sex marriage.
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — A Republican Missouri House member has publicly announced he’s gay and is calling on GOP leaders to end legislation that would limit discussion of sexual orientation in public schools.
Rep. Zachary Wyatt held a Capitol news conference Wednesday at which he said he was disclosing his sexual orientation for the first time. Wyatt and several other lawmakers denounced a bill that would prohibit teaching, extracurricular activities or materials that discuss sexual orientation unless they relate to the scientific facts about human reproduction.
Who’s shocked? National Organization for Marriage (NOM) sought to continue “fanning hostility” and aimed to “sideswipe Obama” by finding “attractive black Democrats” to challenge “white gay marriage advocates” in elections. More on this:
“The strategic goal of this project is to drive a wedge between gays and blacks—two key Democratic constituencies,” says an internal report on 2008 and 2009 campaigns, in a section titled the “Not A Civil Right Project.”
“Find, equip, energize and connect African American spokespeople for marriage, develop a media campaign around their objections to gay marriage as a civil right; provoke the gay marriage base into responding by denouncing these spokesmen and women as bigots,” advises the document, which is a road map to the successful campaign against same-sex marriage in California.
The document also targets Hispanic voters, whom conservatives have long hoped would join the backlash against gay rights.
“The Latino vote in America is a key swing vote, and will be so even more so in the future, both because of demographic growth and inherent uncertainty: Will the process of assimilation to the dominant Anglo culture lead Hispanics to abandon traditional family values?” the document asks. “We must interrupt this process of assimilation by making support for marriage a key badge of Latino identity - a symbol of resistance to inappropriate assimilation.”
NOM — heartless, homophobic, AND racist!
Lol @ the sexy Roman soldiers clearly having more fun than the brainwashed kiddies.
And the usual false comparisons that conservatives make when they make this goddamned silly graphics.
Mainly that there aren’t gay pride parades in the middle of schools. Because I’m guessing that whoever made/posted this graphic are protesting the lack of prayer in school (which is unconstitutional, but these ignoramuses treat the Constitution like the Bible; they only quote the parts of it they like.)
Now the other possibility here is that they are saying that liberals don’t approve of public prayer, but public displays of affection are okay. Obviously that logic is flawed also, because there is no push by liberals, atheists, or any other godless folk to ban public prayer that I’m aware of. But it does not belong in a government-run institution or at a government-run event. If it’s a religious event or a religious school or a religious institution, you can pray all you want and no one is trying to take that away from you. And as far as I know there is no push to encourage opening government-run events with a PDA between two flamboyant gay dudes (though I personally think it would make everything a lot more interesting and fun.)
Conservative Christians, I know you aren’t friends with logic, but you really need to think about utilizing it a little more often so your arguments make sense.
Ridiculousness from conservatives, what makes this even more ridiculous is this is the way these people think.
They are so entitled that they can’t understand the difference between something that happens in public and something that happens in publicly funded institutions.
They look not being able to have publicly “led” prayers as the same thing as not being allowed to pray in public.
Poor oppressed Fundamentalist Christians, and by oppressed I mean “can’t have everything in the whole world be dominated by our religion.”

Tennessee high school principal: Gay students are ‘going to hell’
BROWNSVILLE, Tenn. — A high school principal in Tennessee school reportedly told students during an assembly that gay students were going to hell.
Dorothy Bond, principal at Haywood High School in Brownsville, Tenn., allegedly singled out LGBT and pregnant students during a meeting with students, reported WPTY-TV in Memphis.
“At first she was talking about PDA and she turned around and she directly pointed to the gay people and said: if you’re gay you’re going to hell and if you’re pregnant, your life is over,” according to student Amber Whittiemore.
This is not the first time Bond has made inflammatory remarks about gays and lesbians.
According to Tony Snipes, one parent in the district, at another assembly several years ago, Bond “told the young men if they’re sitting between the legs of a girl getting their hair braided for a few hours, that they must be gay.”
Snipes said that Bond’s controversial statements boil down to, “If you’re pregnant or homosexual, you’re not welcome to Haywood County High School.”
No one from the Haywood County School District would talk to WPTY-TV on camera, and insisted the principal was simply informing students about the school’s policy on public displays of affection.
A school district spokesman said allegations of Bond’s comments are unfounded.
We need to find a way to get this person fired. She has absolutely no business in any position of power.

Bill O’Reilly had a particularly pro-Hollywood night tonight, as far as The Factor is typically concerned. After a segment in which he defended Clint Eastwood from claims that his Super Bowl ad was subliminal Obama campaign propaganda, O’Reilly had on Sandy Rios of Family-Pac Federal to explain the call from conservative group Million Moms to get Ellen DeGeneres fired as JC Penney spokeswoman, and he was not happy with their argument. “I don’t think that’s the spirit of America,” he objected to Rios, who argued that DeGeneres represented immorality.
In other news, I think I may have woken up in an alternate universe today. A universe where Bill O’ Reilly says things that make sense.
In this universe, dogs are independent and aloof and rub their faces on your leg, while cats follow you around and need constant attention.
A universe where vegans go about their vegan business without beating you over the head about what a horrible human being you are for eating meat.
A universe were Fox News tells the truth… okay, maybe that one is going too far.
Every morning, Brittany Geldert stepped off the bus and bolted through the double doors of Fred Moore Middle School, her nerves already on high alert, bracing for the inevitable.
“Dyke.”
Pretending not to hear, Brittany would walk briskly to her locker, past the sixth-, seventh- and eighth-graders who loitered in menacing packs.
“Whore.”
Like many 13-year-olds, Brittany knew seventh grade was a living hell. But what she didn’t know was that she was caught in the crossfire of a culture war being waged by local evangelicals inspired by their high-profile congressional representative Michele Bachmann, who graduated from Anoka High School and, until recently, was a member of one of the most conservative churches in the area. When Christian activists who considered gays an abomination forced a measure through the school board forbidding the discussion of homosexuality in the district’s public schools, kids like Brittany were unknowingly thrust into the heart of a clash that was about to become intertwined with tragedy.
Galatians 5:2-4(KJV)- “Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing. For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law. Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.”
So… *AHEM* what were all you circumcised folks saying about god hating homosexuals?
You guys are in big trouble too, right?
TENNESSEE: Christianists Push Bill To Legalize Bullying Based On Religion
Here we go again, just like we saw in Michigan. Tennessee’sWSMV reports on a new bill that is a “top priority” of the Family Action Council.A proposal by some state lawmakers is already under fire, even before the legislative session begins. They’re considering making a change in the law to allow students to speak out against homosexuality, if that’s what their religious beliefs call for. Supporters have said this is about protecting the free-speech rights of students who want to express their views on homosexuality. But gay rights groups are calling the idea a “license to bully.” Kelly Fussman is the founder of the No Hate Club at Hendersonville High School.
She says she sees examples of bullying every single day. “I’ve had a lot of friends bullied for just being who they are, whether it’s for their sexuality, their gender identity, their religion,” she said. Fussman says she is worried about the bill in the legislature that she believes could make the verbal abuse worse. The proposal would alter the state’s anti-bullying laws to allow students to speak their religious and political views against homosexuality without punishment as long as the student isn’t threatening harm or damaging property.http://joemygod.blogspot.com/
So, what these knuckle draggers are basically saying, is that expressing your “opinion” about your religion is more important than the quality of life for homosexual students.
That expressing their hatred and bigotry is more important than other people’s emotional well being and safety.
That’s completely fucked.
What if it was part of a religion to punch old ladies in the face? Really, what if that was in the bible, would we say “fuck the old ladies, god says to punch old ladies in the face.”
This is total bullshit.
The Star-Tribune reports:
In an effort to promote the passage of the marriage amendment to the state’s Constitution, Twin Cities Archbishop John Nienstedt wants Catholics to recite a special prayer during mass. He’s also urging area Catholics “to embrace Fridays as a particular day of prayer and sacrifice for the success of this most current struggle to defend marriage with our civil constitution. Without such deliberate prayers and sacrifices, our efforts will be in vain. But with God, all things are possible.”
“Much rides on the success of our struggle to defend marriage,” according to Nienstedt, who made the comments in a letter posted on the archdiocese’s website. It’s the latest effort by Minnesota church leaders urging Catholics to support passage of the proposed amendment, which calls for a ban on gay marriage. This fall, the state’s Catholic bishops took the unusual step of directing parish priests across the state to form committees to help get the marriage amendment passed by voters in November 2012.Dear Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis,
I would like to direct you to Matthew 7:3-5 as you seem to be forgetting that this exists in your Bible:
3 “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4 How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.
So there’s nothing in your house that needs to be cleaned up? Good; then lets focus on all the other shit that’s going on in your religion firsts. Then and only then might I take your letter seriously.
That is all.
~ Kim
